RTX 2080 Ti Price History: The Same Card Sold From £126 to £340

The same RTX 2080 Ti sold for as little as £126 and as much as £340 in the same three months. Same chip, same 11GB of VRAM, sometimes more than double the price. So the useful question is not what a 2080 Ti is worth, it is which 2080 Ti, and whether it has been tested.

The dataset

I looked at real eBay UK sold listings from 8 Apr to 5 Jul 2026 and ended up with 126 clean RTX 2080 Ti 11GB comps. Working, pre-owned cards, not asking prices or “spares or repairs”.

The naming is easy here: it is already the Ti, and the standard card is 11GB. The mess is the cooler and brand mix, everything from basic Turbo blowers to Founders Edition, ROG Strix, Gaming X Trio, and hybrid-cooled models, which is exactly why the spread is so wide.

Price range

The median (£216.12) and the trimmed mean (£221.45) sit within about a fiver, so the middle of the market is solid. The plain average (£222.91) rides higher because a handful of premium models drag the top up. That gap is the point: the typical 2080 Ti is a £210-ish card, and any single “average” that reads higher is being pulled by the expensive ones.

Price trend

The weekly median drifts from around £227 in April to about £213 by early July, a soft slide of roughly £14. But look at the vertical scatter: every week has cards landing anywhere from the £180s to the £280s. That is the model premium, not noise. Down, gently, which is what a six-year-old flagship does as newer cards arrive.

What the outliers show

Both ends teach you something. Up top, the £340 Founders, the £304 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid, and the £299 MSI Lightning are premium or collector cards, not comps for a plain Turbo. Pay those for a base card and you have overpaid.

The bottom is the risky end. A £126 AORUS Xtreme and a £150 custom-shroud Zotac are miles under the median, and on a 2080 Ti a flagship model at base-card money is a warning, not a bargain. This generation is famous for early memory failures, so a suspiciously cheap top-tier card is often repaired, artifacting, or on its way out.

What is a good buy price?

Work back from the £216.12 median: £6 postage, a £10 condition cushion, a £25 minimum profit, and you land near £175.

• Fair: £175 to £205
• Risky: £205 to £230
• Avoid: £285 and up for a plain card (that is Founders and premium-AIB money), or a flagship priced like a base one

Is it worth buying for a build?

Most of the time you are dropping this into a rig you will build and sell, and that is where it earns its place. With 11GB of VRAM and roughly RTX 3070 raster, a tested 2080 Ti anchors a proper 1440p machine that pulls a premium over a 1080p box. Pair it with a punchy six or eight core CPU, 16GB or 32GB of RAM, and a good 650W-plus supply.

Bought at £175 to £195 and tested, it lifts the whole build’s margin, and 11GB is a real selling line against the 8GB cards of its era. It sits about £14 above the 3070 and level with the 3060 12GB while out-muscling both, so if one tests clean it is arguably the best raw performance-per-pound anchor of the three. The catch is diligence: it pulls serious power, runs warm, and the failure history means a five-minute stress test is the difference between profit and a return.

A softening market plus a real failure risk means you never pay up and hope. Buy a tested card cheap, build around it, and let the rig carry the profit.

What to check before you buy

• A benchmark or stress-test screenshot; this generation earns the scrutiny
• No artifacting, no “space invaders”, no repaste-because-it-was-crashing
• Boxed and honestly described, base model or premium stated clearly
• Hybrid and AIO cards: check the pump is quiet and not weeping
• Sensible power headroom in the target build; this is a 250W-class card
• Sensible postage on a heavy triple-fan or hybrid card

And the biggest trap on this card: a Founders, Lightning, Strix, or FTW3 priced like a base Turbo. Flagships do not sell cheap unless something is wrong. Test before you trust the price.

The catch

126 comps is a strong sample, but it is one marketplace over three months, and the brand mix is unusually wide, so any single average hides a lot. eBay sold prices miss cash deals and accepted offers, condition swings value hard at this age, and the memory-failure history means a bad buy costs more than a lost margin.

One last thing: if a 2080 Ti is unusually cheap, especially a flagship model, assume there is a reason until you have proof otherwise. Test it, or buy from someone who already has.
